' 01 March 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0130 <br /> Page 6 of 10 <br /> sectional line A-A'was previously presented in Quarterly Report - Second Quarter 2000, dated 31 <br /> July 2000 <br /> The site model presented is interpretational and will be modified as more data is collected The five <br /> vertical zones identified are as follows (depths are approximate and can vary by several feet across <br /> the site) <br /> • Vadose Zone (VZ) - The vadose zone (unsaturated zone) is predominantly laterally <br /> continuous, less permeable, fine grained, silty clay and clayey silt identified at depths <br /> between surface grade and 30 feet bsg, <br /> • Hydrologic Unit 1 (HUI) -Located between 30 feet and 57 feet bsg, consists primarily of <br /> permeable to semi-permeable, fine to medium sand and silty sand with limited minor fine <br /> grained material, saturated soil is encountered at 40 feet bsg <br /> • Hydrologic Unit 2 (HU2) - Located between 57 and 67 feet bsg, consists primarily of <br /> laterally continuous, less permeable, fine grained, silty clay and clayey silt <br /> • Hydrologic Unit 3 (HU3) - Located between 67 and 87 feet bsg, consists primarily of <br />�. permeable to semi-permeable, fine to medium sand with limited minor fine grained material <br /> identified at depths between 67 feet and 87 feet bsg, <br /> • Hydrologic Unit 4 (HU4) - Located between 87 feet and 150 feet bsg, consists primarily of <br /> less permeable, fine grained, silty clay and clayey silt zone some limited sand zones of <br /> limited lateral continuity <br /> 33 FIELD EVIDENCE OF HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED SOIL <br /> Faint to strong hydrocarbon odor was noted in soil samples collected from MW-6 at depths between <br /> 25 and 80 feet bsg and from MW-7 at depths between 60 and 70 feet bsg Hydrocarbon odor <br /> observations are recorded on the boring logs contained in Appendix A <br /> t34 LABORATORY RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> A total of thirteen soil samples were collected from MW-6 and MW-7 and submitted for laboratory <br /> analysis for constituents noted above TPH-g was detected in five MW-6 soil samples collected <br /> between 37 and 73 feet bsg at concentrations as high as 1,200 milligrams per kilogram, the <br /> laboratory reported all five soil samples as having significant unmodified or weakly modified <br /> • gasoline <br /> Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc <br />
