' 30 September 2003
. AGE-NC Project No 95-0130
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
I Based upon the results of the second quarter 2003 investigation, AGE recommends
p q
' a Continued quarterly groundwater monitoring of wells VW-1 (Band C), VW-2A, VW-3A,
MW-6 (A-E) and MW-7 (A-E) The next two quarterly ground water monitoring events are
' tentatively scheduled for September 2003 and December 2003
- Conduct future ground water monitoring events concurrently with the Knowles/Roek
Property site(102 South Wilson Way)and the Arco AM/PM site(130 South Wilson Way),
' a Continued quarterly depth-to-water measurements in all monitoring wells at the site, but
reduced ground water sampling frequency from a quarterly to a semi-annual program, AGE
' believes that continued quarterly ground water sampling from these wells at this stage of the
investigation is not cost effective and will not provide enough useful information to
supplement the ongoing investigation Semi-annual sampling events should be adequate to
I monitor ground water impacts at these wells and should be re-evaluated on a semi-annual
basis
• Ground water extraction wells EW-1, EW-2 and monitoring well MW-8 were installed at the site
on 23 and 24 July 2003 Documentation of the well installations and a report of findings will be
' included in the forthcoming Quarterly Report- Third Quarter 2003
A cost estimate for the SJCEHD approved-intenm remediation work plan was submitted to the UST
' Cleanup Fund on 08 September 2003 AGE anticipates implementing the above interim remediation
work plan by November 2003
I In accordance with the above work plan,AGE submitted an application on 15 July 2003 to the City
of Stockton Public Works for discharge of Top Filling Station treated ground water to the sanitary
sewer system A City of Stockton discharge permit was issued on 15 August 2003 (Appendix C)
IAGE is currently in the process of applying for an `authority to construct' and `permit to operate'
a soil vapor extraction system with the San Joaquin County Air Pollution Control District(APCD)
IUpon APCD approval, AGE will submit copies of the APCD permits to the SJCEHD
I6.0.
