ti t�.a�rw�wM Specialists in Site Assessment Remedial Testing Design and Operation i • October 26, 2005 Mr Steve Coodey Ultramar Inc 685 West Third Street Hanford, California 93230 Subject Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report -Third Quarter 2005 Former Beacon Station No 12419 2350 Waterloo Road, Stockton, California Mr Coodey Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has prepared this report which documents third quarter 2005 groundwater monitoring at the subject site located in San Joaquin County, as shown on Figure 1 There are currently eleven groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-11), two soil vapor extraction wells (VW-1 and VW-2), and three air sparge wells (AS-1 through AS-3) associated with this site The wells, with the exception of monitoring well MW-6, are all located within the station property boundaries (Figure 2) A table summarizing the quarterly groundwater monitoring program is-contained in Attachment A - • Groundwater Monitoring Groundwater monitoring activities were conducted by Horizon on August 31, 2005 according to Horizon Field Methods and Procedures (Attachment A) Monitoring activities included measurement of static groundwater level, purging groundwater from the wells, collection of— groundwater sample _and preparation and delivery_ofthe-samples-to-the-analytical laboratory --- ---- -- - -The-depth to- groundwater-was-measured -to=the=nearest-0 01-foot from-)the-top-of casing== - (TOC) in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-10 and air sparge wells AS-1 through AS-3 Monitoring well MW-11 was dry The groundwater physical parameters of conductivity, pH and temperature were monitored with field instrumentation and the visual characteristics of turbidity and presence of free product or sheen, and obvious olfactory characteristics of the groundwater were noted during the purging process Field groundwater level and purge data are recorded on Horizon Monitoring Well Data sheets (Attachment B) Groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells MW-6 through MW-10 and air sparge wells AS-2 and AS-3 The groundwater samples were submitted, under chain-of- custody (COC) documentation, to Kiff Analytical LLC (Kiff), a California Department of Health Services-certified analytical laboratory (ELAP No 2236) located in Davis, California The samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), the volatile aromatic compounds benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX), and the fuel oxygenate methyl-t-butyl ether (MTBE) by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8260E 4970 Windplay Drive #C5 • EI Dorado Hills CA 95762 • (916)939-2170 • FAX (916)939-2172 _ f PO Box 5283 • Bakersfield CA 93388 • (661)589=8389 •'FAX(661)589-1456 - T T
