4� HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br /> Specialists in Site Assessment Remedial Testing Design and Operation <br /> �r <br /> April 20, 2000 <br /> Mr Joe Aldridge <br /> Ultramar Inc APR 2 4 2000 <br /> 525 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93230 ENVIRONMEIVTAi_ r,EALTH <br /> PERMIT / SERVICES <br /> Subject Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> First Quarter—2000 <br /> Former Beacon Station No 419 <br /> 2350 Waterloo Road, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Aldridge <br /> Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has prepared this Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Report for the first quarter 2000 monitoring activity at the subject site (Figure 1) There are <br /> currently ten groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-10), two soil vapor <br /> extraction wells (VW-1 and VW-2) and one air-sparging well (AS-1) associated with this <br /> site All wells, with the exception of well MW-6, are located within site boundaries (Figure <br /> 2) <br /> Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Groundwater monitoring activities were conducted by Horizon on February 21 and 22, 2000 <br /> Monitoring activities included measurement of static groundwater level, purging <br /> groundwater from the wells, collection of groundwater samples, and preparation and <br /> delivery of the samples to the analytical laboratory Horizon Field Methods and Procedures <br /> are presented as Attachment A to this report <br /> The depth to groundwater was measured to the nearest 0 01 foot from the top-of-casing <br /> (TOC) in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-10 Depth-to-groundwater measurements <br /> were subtracted from the surveyed TOC elevations (reported by previous consultants) to <br /> calculate groundwater elevations Field groundwater level data are included on Horizon <br /> Monitoring Well Data sheets (Attachment B) and are summarized in Table 1 <br /> Field groundwater monitoring well purge data are included on Horizon Monitoring Well <br /> Data sheets The physical parameters conductivity, pH and temperature were monitored <br /> with field instrumentation during the purging process The visual characteristics of turbidity <br /> and presence of free product or sheen, and the obvious olfactory characteristics of the <br /> groundwater were also noted during the purging process <br /> 5011 Golden Foothill Parkway Suite 7 • EI Dorado Hills, CA 95762 • (916) 939-2170 • FAX (916) 939-2172 <br /> PO Box 5283 • Bakersfield CA 93388 9 (661) 589-8389 • FAX (661) 589-1456 <br />
