Beacon Station No 419 August 2, 1996 <br /> Stockton, California Assessment Report <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND <br /> The site is an operating gasoline service station located on the southwestern corner of the <br /> intersection of Waterloo Road and Sierra Lane in Stockton, California Site facilities include <br /> a station building, two gasoline product dispenser islands located east of the station building, <br /> and three underground gasoline storage tanks (USTs) located toward the eastern property <br /> boundary Locations of these and other pertinent site features are shown on the Site Plan <br /> (Figure 2) <br /> Previous environmental work at the site was performed by AMV and others This previous <br /> work included drilling three onsite soil borings (SB-1 through SB-3) in March 1991, the <br /> removal and replacement of the UST's in October 1993, and drilling three additional soil <br /> borings and installation of three onsite 4-inch inside diameter (ID) groundwater monitoring <br /> wells (MW-1 through MW-3) in July 1994 Gasoline hydrocarbons were found to be <br /> present in soil and groundwater during these previous investigations Locations of the soil <br /> borings, UST's, and groundwater monitoring wells are shown on Figure 2 Groundwater <br /> was found to be present at a depth of approximately 70 feet below ground surface (bgs) <br /> FIELD WORK <br /> Field work was conducted between May 6 through May 29, 1996 in accordance with the <br /> Horizon Site Safety Plan dated May 3, 1996 Prior to performing the soil borings, <br /> Underground Service Alert was notified Prior to drilling, an encroachment permit was <br /> obtained from the County of San Joaquin Department of Public Works for the offsite <br /> groundwater monitoring well, and well permits were obtained from the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Division of Public Health Services for all of the soil borings and <br /> 40 1419 11-RPT 2 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL.INC <br />
