Washington Street, Ripon, California A1fr, I p 2006 ENVIRONMENT HE4LTH Third Quarter Groundwater Sampling Report PERMIT/SERVICES July 2006 NARRATIVE On July 13, 2006 M.J. Kloberdanz & Associates, in conjunction with GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc., conducted quarterly groundwater monitoring of the Ripona Market site at 223 W. Washington Street, Ripon, California. Quarterly monitoring activities consisted of depth to water measurement, well purging and water characterization, groundwater sample collection and laboratory analysis on five groundwater-monitoring wells located at this site. All five groundwater-monitoring wells were monitored for floating product and depth to groundwater measurements obtained before purging the wells. Each well was evacuated of at least three well volumes by means of a steam-cleaned, stainless steel bladder-type pump. During the purging of the wells, field pH, electrical conductivity, and temperature measurements were monitored to verify well stability and to insure that representative groundwater samples were collected. Once well stability was achieved, groundwater samples were collected. Field data sheets are presented in appendix B. The groundwater samples were labeled and placed in an ice chest cooled with blue ice or crushed ice, logged on a Chain of Custody form, and delivered to GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc., a state certified laboratory, located in Modesto, California. The water samples were analyzed for BTEX, MTBE and the Oxygenated Compounds including EDB and 1, 2 DCA (EPA Method 8260B) and gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons (EPA Method 5030, GCFID). All of the water samples were checked in the laboratory for dissolved oxygen concentrations in the field. SUMMARY FINDINGS Groundwater was present as an unconfined state at depths of approximately 22 to 22.6 feet below ground surface at the Ripona Market site on July 13, 2006. The unconfined water table was present approximately 0.2 to 0.31 feet higher than in the April 13, 2006 monitoring event. A hydrograph of the groundwater elevations at the Ripona Market site is presented in Figure 5.
