(California Cedar Products), Robert A.
Booher Consulting (RAB) has prepared this Work Plan to perform subsurface confirmation
sampling near the location of underground diesel fuel storage tank (UST) No. 2 at its Stockton,
California facility. Two diesel USTs were removed and the UST pit was backfilled and closed in
1990 at the subject Site (see Figure 1- Location Map). Soil samples collected beneath the USTs
(a depth of about 13 feet below ground surface) were reported by WaterWork in 1990 to be non-
detectable in diesel with the exception of one sample from the west end of UST 2 that was
reported at 5,000 mg/Kg.
In a letter dated 7 March 1994, the San Joaquin Co ty Public Health Services/Environmental
Health Division(PHS/EHD)informed California Cedai Products that the allowable limit of diesel
leaching potential as recommended by the LUFT Manual was exceeded, and an "Unauthorized
Release Report"was filed.
RAB has prepared this Work Plan to ascertain the extent of diesel release. The following scope
of work describes the soil and groundwater sample collection methodology. The sampling
locations are shown on Figure 2 —Sample Location Map.
Scope of Work
Soil and Groundwater Sampling
Prior to the drilling activity, the drill site will be marked with white paint and Underground
Service Alert (USA) will be notified. Facility utility drawings and records of past utility
encounters will be used where available. RAB shall contact PHS/EDH to notify of the day of
sampling
