1 <br /> Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report-- California Cedar Products <br /> Stockton, California (Figure 1-Location Map) The Site is at an approximate <br /> ' elevation of 5 feet above Mean Sea Level (MSL) and has relatively flat topography <br /> sloping gently toward the west (USGS, 1980) The Port of Stockton/San Joaquin <br /> ' River is the nearest water body located 0 5 mile north of the Site Groundwater flow <br /> direction in the upper saturated zone (Quaternary-age alluvium) is generally in the <br />' south to southeast direction <br />' On 2 November 1990, Falcon Energy Associates removed two 12,000-gallon diesel <br /> tanks from Tank Pit No 1 at the subject Site Figure 2 — Tank Sample Map <br />' illustrates the former UST location and the findings of the laboratory analysis Sal <br /> samples were collected and tested by Water Work Corp IRESNA Industries, and <br />' reported to Falcon Energy on 26 November 1990 Sequoia Analytical reported the <br />' soil as non-detect (ND) for high boiling point hydrocarbons (diesel) with the <br /> exception of one sample reported at 5,000 mg/Kg collected at a depth of 13 4 feet <br /> below ground surface (bgs) from the west end (fill point end) of Tank No 2 <br /> According to Water Work Corp IRESNA, "the tank is tar wrapped and has no visible <br />' holes or pitting The overall condition of the tank is excellent " Groundwater was <br /> not encountered during the excavation of the tanks <br /> 1.3 Scope of Work <br /> Based on the approved work plan dated 3 September 2002, RAB Consulting was <br />' authorized by the PHS-EHD to perform the subsurface site investigation RAB <br /> Consulting performed the following scope of work for this site investigation <br /> r <br /> * Installed four exploratory probes (B1, B2, B3 and B4), <br /> • Installed Hydropunch at B4, <br /> • Collected soil and groundwater samples and submitted the samples for <br />' analytical testing for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d), for <br /> RAB Consulting <br />
