Specifically, we provide herein a groundwater monitor <br /> well completion procedure and diagram, and a description of monitor well and <br /> existing well point abandonment procedures. <br /> WELL. CONSTRUCTION <br /> We propose to install two groundwater monitor wells to a maximum depth of 20 <br /> faet. Wells will be screened us described in our April 17, 1990 Work Plan, <br /> and depicted on Figure 1, Proposed Monitor Well Completion Diagram, A sand <br /> filter pack will be placed from about 4 inches below to 24 inches above the <br /> top of the well screen. A minimum 1-foot thick bentonite pellet seal will <br /> be placed above the sand pack. The bentonite will be hydrated with potable <br /> water. <br /> A 9--sack neat cement grout containing a maxi'mtwi of S percent bentonite will <br /> extend from the bentonite seal to about 1 foot below ground surface (bgs). <br /> A locking anchor vault will be placed over the well casing and secured into <br /> place with concrete. The ground Surface will be graded away from the vault <br /> for drainage. <br /> MONITOR WELL AND EXISTING DRIVE WELL ABANDONMENT <br /> Existing well points and new monitor wells will be abandoned upon completion <br /> of the investigation. The abandonment procedure will be documented by an <br /> engineer or hydrogeologist during implementation and reported &s required to <br /> the San Joaquin Local Health District. <br /> F.C.
