Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
e
RE: Request for Reduced Sampling Frequency and Report Consolidation
Former Econo Gas Station
4325 East Washington Street -
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Knoll:
Per our telephone conversation today, I am writing to request a modification of Conoco
Inc.'s sampling and reporting procedures for the above referenced site.
Upon your approval, Conoco will reduce the sampling of monitoring wells at this site from
quarterly to annually. This is based on historical concentrations of Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) and benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene (BTEX)
that have been below the detection limit. If future monitoring well samples contain
significant concentrations of TPHg or BTEX, the sampling frequency may be return to
quarterly.
Also upon your approval, Conoco will consolidate the annual groundwater monitoring report
with the appropriate quarterly vapor extraction report. This consolidation will reduce the
number of reports received by your office from eight to four per year. Any unit downtime
or operating anomalies of the groundwater or vapor systems will be noted in the quarterly
-_ reports._
If you have any questions, please contact me at (713) 293-2867.
Sincerely,
Linda S. Thompson
Project Coordinator
