FC7X ENVIRaNMENTAL SERVICES, ING.
A 6015 West Cliff Orive • Knoxville, TN 37919 • (6151690-1996
7
November 30, 1985 rZ_
DD
Mr. Kelly Williamson
Kayo Oil Company
1221 E. Main Street
Chattanooga, TN 3708
RE: Econo Station
4325 E. Washington Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205
Dear :r. Williamson-
The
illiamson:The following report covers several soil and groundwater assessment
procedures that have been performed since the last four monitor wells
were installed at the Econo gas station located at 8325 E. Washington
Ave. in Stockton, CA.
On September 25, 1985 a soil boring was made in the west side of the
underground storage tank back fill to assess the soil contamination
levels with respect to depth. Soil samples were taken every five feet
from the surface, down to 41 feet, where groundwater was encountered.
- Each soil sample was field screened with a draper tube and pump and any
sample that indicated a presence of hydrocarbon was sent to Twining Lab-
ortories for analysis. A copy of the analysis is attached, as is the
analysis of the soil samples that were taken on September 18, 19, 20, 1985
during the drilling of MW1478, MW#9, MW#10 and MWr11,
On September 26, 1985, groundwater samples were collected from monitor
wells MW, MW9, M1Jn10 and M14u11 and these samples were analyzed for
EPA 602, E.D.B. and lead and these results are attached. Additional
groundwater samples have been ordered as of December 5, 1985, and the
results of these analysis will be forwarded when they are received.
An updated monitor well data sheet is attached for your review, and you
will note the appearance of visible hydrocarbon contamination in MWu7 and
MWn9 hhich previously was not observed.
There has been a continual decrease in the groundwater table at this loca-
tion from June 22, 1985 to present, lending to the premise that a permeable
zone has been exposed to the product plume that exists upon the groundwater,
and this plume has started to migrate, as is evidenced by the observation of
visible hydrocarbon contamination in MW,Y5, MW#7 and 1114.119.
