Kelly Will'-Ason
Kayo Oil Company
1121 East Main Street
Chattanooga, Tennessee 31408
Dear Mr. Williamson:
SUBJECT: SECONDARY SOILS INVESTIGATION AND MONITOR WELL INSTALLATION
SUP.MARY REPORT FOR:
Econo Self-Service Station
4325 East Washington Street
Stockton, California
Store No. 05148
IT Project No. ME0004
This report surrhnarixes the work accomplished regarding the soil profile
examination and monitoring well installation at the Econo Self-Service
station at 4325 East Washington Street in Stockton, California. The
Investigation was conducted to determine the extent of the hydrocarbons
encountered during the original investigation at this station. This
investigation was previously addressed In a letter report dated
March 14, 1985.
On-site work eormenced at 8 a.m., March 26, 1985, with the drilling of
three additional borings. which were completed by 10:40 a.m. that day.
As a result of the findings from our March 26, I985, drilling. it was
determined that one additional boring was necessary to bet.er define the
exte^t of hydrocarbons at the site. Boring locations are shown in
Figure 1. The soils borings were drilled with a truck-.,.punted 9-inch
hollow-stem auger to a depth of 20 feet in all four borings. Soil
samples were collected at 5-foot intervals with a California sampler.
recorded by an IT Corporation engineer, and classified according to the
Unified Soils Classification Systema (Plate 1). All borings for the
secondary Investigation were completed as vadose wells of the type shown
on the individual bore logs (Plates 2-5). Since the ,wells are within
100 feet of the septic system, the Environmental Health Division Of San
Joaquin County would only approve the installation of shallow vadose
wells.
Ir C :IiS-2';:^• 'SE iiS.' i% ..!...,.`r;2 ; ...Y.".Si]° `:J•ii ' ti
