California
Dear Mr. Fletcher:
This letter presents Du Pont Environmental Remediation Services'(PERS)quarterly status report for the
in-situ soil remediation system at 4325 East Washington Street,Stockton,California from March 28 to June
27, 1991. The soil remediation system consists of a series of vapor wells,n vacuum extraction blower, and
a thcrmal incinerator for vapor abatement prior to atmospheric discharge.
A DERS technician visited the site on a weekly basis. Typical activities that were performed during the
visit included equipment inspection, instrument calibration, influent and effluent soil vent gas concentration
measurements, and control system adjustments. A hand-held organic vapor anal}Ler(OVA)was used by
the field technician to measure the vent gas hydrocarbon concentrations. Monthly influent soil vent gas
samples were collected for laboratory analysis. Laboratory
orattile burneruhcardd were chainof-cuseplace'ef ondy fotilerms
are
ater altar.
ed
in Appendix A. During this reporting period,
Approximately 150 gallons of knock-nut water and one carbon drum were taken off-site for recycling and
disposal, respectively.
Based on operating parameters listed on Table A and an extraction rate of 90 cubic feet per minute,
approximately 7,740 pounds(1,260 gallons) of gasoline were extracted during this reporting period. The
operating since August 1989, and since then, approximately 32,440 pounds
remediation system has been
(5,265 gallons) of gasoline have been extracted and treated. The systems'operating efficiency
time versus actual time)was 98.4%n during the reporting period. Attached are two figures which show the
mass of gasoline extracted per month(Figure 1)and the cumulative mass of gasoline extracted(Figure 2).
Sincerely,
DU PONT ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION SERVICES
Michael Meese
Joseph A.
