Both stockpiles will be sampled in accordance with the <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board's guidelines (four discrete samples per 50 cubic yards). The <br /> discrete samples will be composiled and analyzed at a California-certified laboratory for TPHg,BTXE, <br /> and lead. The contaminated soils will then be hauled to an approved hazardous waste disposal facility <br /> or treated on-site. Water collected during decontamination procedures will be stored on-site in sealed <br /> Department of Transportaiion(DOT17-E)55-gallon drums. The drummed liquids will be sampled and <br /> properly disposed of based on analytical results. <br /> y 9.0 SAMPLE C01AL13Cl-ION, I IANDLING AND Cl LAIN-OF-CUSTODY PROCEDURES <br /> 9.1 Sample Collection and I landline <br /> All soil samples will be collected by trained personnel. All samples will be extracted and analyzed by <br /> a California-certified laboratory within the maximum allowable holding times for the constituents to be <br /> tested. <br /> 9.2 Chain-of-custody Procedures <br /> A Chain-of-Custody Record, Figure 7 will be used to document soil sample possession from the time.. <br /> of collection,through all custody transfers,and finally to the storage facility or the analytical laboratory, <br /> where the laboratory's internal procedure will govern until final disposition of the samples. Recorded <br /> on the Chain-of-Custody form will be the sample number, site identification, date sampled, analysis <br /> requested, and sample condition upon receipt at the laboratory. Proper taping, locking, and sealing <br /> shall be used to prevent or detect tampering with the samples. >E <br /> 10-0 HEALTH AND SAFETY <br /> DuPont Environmental Remediation Services(DERS)is dedicated to ensuring that its employees work <br /> within a safe and healthy environment at potentially hazardous sites. All DERS personnel working on <br /> the project will be SARA-trained (40 hour class). DERS' Health and Safety program will be <br /> implemented daring the subsurface exploration phase of this workplan. <br /> ICU PONT ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION SERVICES <br />
