Fletcher
Coordinator- Environmental Affairs
SUBJECT: Quarterly Status Report _
Former Econo Gas Station
4325 East Washington Street
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Fletcher:
This is a monthly status report for the in-situ sail remediation system at the above-referenced site from
February 1 to March 28, 1991. The monthly status report for January 1991 has already been issued.
The soil vapor extraction system consists of a series of vapor wells, a vacuum blower, and a thermal
incinerator.
A Du Pont Environmental Remediation Services technician visited the site on a weekly basis. Typical
activities that were performed during the visit included equipment inspection, instrument calibration,
influent and effluent soil vent gas concentration measurements, and control system adjustments. A
hand-held organic vapor analyzer (OVA)was used by field technicians to measure the hydrocarbon
concentrations. Monthly influent soil vent gas samples were collected for laboratory analysis.
Based on operating parameters listed on Table A and an extraction rate of 100 cubic feet per minute,
approximately 2,500 pounds(400 gallons) of gasoline were extracted during this reporting period. The
remediation system has been operating since August 1939,and since;then, approximately 24,700 pounds
(4,000 gallons) of gasoline have been extracted and properly treated. Attached are two figures which
show the mass of gasoline extracted per month(Figure 1)and the cumulative mass of gasoline extracted
(Figure 2).
Ilave a safe day,
DU PONT ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION SERVICES
]oseph A.
