Loop West, Suite 600 a
Houston, Texas 77292 11-1567-0411
Subject- Third Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Report
Former E-Z Serve Station #100966, 2537 Waterloo Road, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Cobb
Brown and Caldwell conducted the third quarter groundwater monitoring event at E-Z Serve
Management Company's (E-Z Serve) Former Station#100966, 2537 Waterloo Road, Stockton,
California, on September 23, 1994 Thus sampling event signifies the first phase of work
conducted by Brown and Caldwell at this site. The work performed at the subject site included
collecting depth-to-groundwater measurements from eight groundwater monitoring wells,
purging and sampling eight wells, and submitting the groundwater samples to SPL Inc., an
analytical laboratory located in Houston, Texas and certified by the State of California
Department of Toxic Substance Control for analysis of hazardous materials. Field work was
performed following the procedures outlined in Attachment A.
Summary of Findings
Depth-to-water measurements were collected using an oil-water interface probe Free product
was not identified in any of the monitoring wells. A minimum of three well volumes was
purged from each of the monitoring wells prior to sampling Samples were collected from
each of the monitoring wells, transferred to the appropriate sampling vials, and submitted to
SPL Inc., within 48 hours of collection, under appropriate chain of custody. SPL, Inc. reported
receiving the samples at 20° Celsius. This temperature is above the goal of 4° Celsius,
however, it is below the temperature of the groundwater at the time of sampling Samples
were analyzed by SPL, Inc. for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and xylene isomers, following Environmental Protection Agency Methods 8015
modified and 8020.
Field data collected during the sampling event indicate groundwater elevations have decreased
significantly relative to last quarter. Groundwater is flowing to the southwest, west, and
northwest under gradients ranging from approximately 0.001 to 0.0003 feet per foot.
Analytical laboratory results show a slight increase in petroleum hydrocarbon constituents in
C 1enMC%100W6 W-1p41tr
