Approximate Depth to Groundwater 57 97 to 58 75 (Measured Feet
Groundwater Gradient 1 0 006 Wft (Magnitude)
Groundwater Flow Direction Northwester] (Direction)
Discussion On November 20, 2002, ATC Associates, Incorporated (ATC) personnel gauged purged and sampled 12 groundwater
monitor wells and 3 vapor extraction wells (VW-1, VW-2, and VW-3) at the site (Figures 1 and 2) Depth to groundwater ranged
between 57 97(MW-6)to 58 75 (MW-7)feet below ground surface(bgs) The direction of groundwater flow was northwesterly with a
calculated hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 006 ft/ft, respectively(Figure 2) No measurable phase-separated hydrocarbons (PSH)
were recorded during this monitoring event Groundwater elevations and contours are illustrated on Figure 2 and groundwater-
monitoring data is presented in Table 1
On November 20, 2002, ATC collected groundwater samples from 12 monitor and 3 vapor extraction wells ATC utilized the attached
sampling procedures described in Appendix A to collect groundwater samples from MW-1,MW-2,MW-3,MW-4,MW-5,MW-6,MW-
7, MW-8, MW-9, MW-10, MW-11, MW-12, VW-1, VW-2, and VW-3 Field logs are also included in Appendix A Groundwater
samples collected were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons characterized as gasoline(TPHg),benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
total xylenes (BTEX), fuel oxygenates methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tcrt-butyl ether (ETBE), tert-
amyl methyl ether (TAME), and tent-butyl alcohol (TBA), 1,2-dichlorethane (1,2-DCA), and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB), ethanol, and
methanol by EPA Test Method 8260B and GC/MS Combination TPHg concentrations were reported above the laboratory Practical
Quantitation Limit (PQL) of 50 micrograms per liter(pg/L) in groundwater samples collected from 7 of the fifteen (15)wells sampled
this quarter The highest TPHg, benzene, and MTBE concentrations reported were 16,000, 8,300, and 430 gg/L, respectively, in the
groundwater samples collected from VW-1 TBA was detected above the laboratory PQL ranging from 5 0 to 1,000 µg/L in 4 wells
sampled, the highest concentration reported was 160 µg/L in groundwater samples collected from MW-9 and VW-2 1,2-DCA
concentrations were reported above the laboratory PQL ranging from 0 5 to 100 µg/L in 13 wells, the highest 1,2-DCA concentration
reported was 64 gg/L in groundwater samples collected from MW-10 EDB,TAME,and DIPE concentrations were reported below their
laboratory PQL ranging from 0 5 to 1,000 µg/l,in the 15 wells sampled Methanol and ethanol concentrations were reported below the
laboratory PQL ranging from 50 to 10,000 }ig/I,and 500 µg/L, respectively, in the 15 wells sampled this quarter TPHg, benzene, and
• MTBE concentrations are illustrated on Figure 2 and historic groundwater analytical results are presented in Tables 1 and 2
