Groundwater Gradient 0 006 ft/ft (Magnitude)
' Groundwater Flow Direction I Northwesterly. Direction
' Discussion On August 20, 2002, ATC Associates, Incorporated(ATC)personnel gauged purged and sampled 12 groundwater monitor
wells and 3 vapor extraction wells at the site(Figures 1 and 2) Depth to groundwater ranged between 57 50 (MW-6)to 58 33 (MW-9)
feet below ground surface (bgs) The direction of groundwater flow was northwesterly with a calculated hydraulic gradient of
approximately 0 006 ff/ft, respectively (Figure 2) No measurable phase-separated hydrocarbons (PSH) were recorded during this
' monitoring event Groundwater elevations and contours are illustrated on Figure 2 and groundwater-monitoring data is presented in Table
1
On August 20, 2002, ATC collected groundwater samples from 12 monitor and 3 vapor extraction wells ATC utilized the attached
sampling procedures described in Appendix A to collect groundwater samples from MW-1,MW-2,MW-3,MW4,MW-5,MW-6,MW-
7, MW-8, MW-9, MW-10, MW-11, MW-12, VW-1, VW-2, and VW-3 Field logs are also included in Appendix A Groundwater
samples collected were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons characterized as gasoline(TPHg),benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
total xylenes (BTEX), fuel oxygenates methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (RIPE), ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE), tert-
amyl methyl ether (TAME), and tert-butyl alcohol (TBA), 1,2-dichlorethane (1,2-DCA), and I,2-dibromoethane (EDB), by EPA Test
Method 8260, and methanol and ethanol by EPA Test Method 8015 TPHg concentrations were reported above the laboratory detection
limit of 50 micrograms per liter (gg/L) in 8 of the fifteen wells sampled The highest TPHg, benzene, and MTBE concentrations
reported were 7,200, 4,900, and 280 pg/L respectively in the groundwater samples collected from VW-I TBA was detected above the
laboratory detection linut of 5 0 pg/L in 10 wells sampled, the highest concentration reported was 160 gg/L in samples collected from
MW-9 ETBE concentrations were detected above the laboratory detection limit of 1 0 pg/L in 5 wells sampled, the highest
concentration reported was 11 pg/L in samples collected from MW-10 and MW-I2 1,2-DCA concentrations were reported in 13 wells,
the highest 1,2-DCA concentration reported was 200 pg/L in groundwater samples collected from MW-10 TAME and DIPE
concentrations were reported below their laboratory detection limit of 10 pg/L in all 15 wells sampled No methanol or ethanol
concentrations were reported above the laboratory detection limits of 1,000 pg/L in any of the 15 wells sampled this quarter TPHg,
benzene, and MTBE concentrations are illustrated on Figure 2 and historic groundwater analytical results are presented in Tables I and 2
Hydrographs of groundwater elevations and analytical data are attached in Appendix B and complete laboratory analytical results and
chain-of-custody documentation are attached in Appendix C
