Groundwater Gradient 0 002 and 0 015 ft/fl (Magnitude)
Groundwater Flow Direction Westerly and Easterly (Direction)
' Discussion On January 29, 2002, ATC Associates, Incorporated (ATC) personnel gauged 12 groundwater monitor wells and 3 vapor
extraction wells(Figure 1 and 2) Depth to groundwater ranged between 51 40(MW-6)to 52 13(MW-7)feet below ground surface(bgs)
The direction of groundwater flow was to the west and east-southeast with a calculated hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 002 and
' 0 015 ft/ft, respectively (Figure 2) No measurable phase-separated hydrocarbons (PSH) were recorded during this monitoring event
Groundwater elevations and contours are illustrated on Figure 2 and groundwater monitor data is presented in Table 1
On January 29, 2002, ATC collected groundwater samples from 12 monitoring wells and 3 vapor extraction wells ATC utilized the
' attached sampling procedures described in Appendix A to collect groundwater samples from MW-1,MW-2,MW-3,MW-4,MW-5,MW_
6,MW-7,MW-8,MW-9,MW-10,MW-11,MW-I2,VW-I,VW-2,and VW-3 Field logs are also included in Appendix A Groundwater
samples collected were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons characterized as gasoline(TPHg),benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
total xylenes(BTEX), fuel oxygenates methyl tert-butyl ether(MTBE),di-isopropyl ether(RIPE),ethyl tert-butyl ether(ETBE),tert-amyl
methyl ether (TAME), and tert-butyl alcohol (TBA), 1,2-dichlorethane (1,2-DCA), and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) by EPA Test Method
8260,and methanol and ethanol by EPA Test Method 8015B The highest TPHg,benzene,MTBE,and TBA concentrations reported were
19,000, 3,100,350,and 150 micrograms per liter(µg/L),respectively The highest TPHg,benzene,MTBE, and TBA concentrations were
reported in MW-I2 The highest 1,2-DCA concentration reported was 110 gg/L,in groundwater samples collected from MW-10 and MW-
12 DIPE, ETBE,and TAME concentrations were reported below their respective detection limits No methanol or ethanol concentrations
were reported above the laboratory detection linnts of 100 µg2 in any of the 15 wells TPHg, benzene, and MTBE concentrations are
illustrated on Figure 2 and historic groundwater analytical results are presented in Tables I and 2 Hydrographs of groundwater elevations
and analytical data are attached in Appendix B and complete laboratory analytical results and chain-of-custody documentation are attached
