Approximate Depth to Groundwater 55 04 to 55 92 Measured Feet
Groundwater Gradient 0 001 ft/ft (Magnitude)
Groundwater Flow Direction Northwesterly Direction
' Discussion On January 16,2003, ATC Associates,Incorporated(ATC)personnel gauged purged and sampled 16 groundwater monitor
wells,three(3)vapor extraction wells(VW-1,VW-2, and VW-3), and one(1)groundwater extraction well(EX-1) at the site(Figures 1
and 2) Depth to groundwater ranged between 55 04 (MW-13) to 55 92 (MW-14) feet below ground surface (bgs) The direction of
groundwater flow was northwesterly with a calculated hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 001 ft/ft, respectively (Figure 2) No
measurable phase-separated hydrocarbons (PSH) were recorded during this monitoring event Groundwater elevations and contours are
illustrated on Figure 2 and groundwater-monitoring data is presented in Table 1 _
' On January 16, 2003, ATC purged and collected groundwater samples from 16 monitoring wells, 3 vapor extraction wells, and 1
extraction well ATC utilized the attached sampling procedures described in Appendix A to collect groundwater samples from MW-i,
MW-2,MW-3, MW-4,MW-5, MW-6,MW-7,MW-8, MW-9, MW-10,MW-11,MW-12,MW-13, MW-14, MW-15, MW-16, MW-17,
VW-1, VW-2, VW-3, and EX-1 Field logs are also included in Appendix A Groundwater samples collected were analyzed for total
' petroleum hydrocarbons characterized as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), fuel oxygenates
methyl tert-butyl ether(MTBE),di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tert-butyl ether(ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether(TAME),and tett-butyl
alcohol(TBA), 1,2-dichlorethane(1,2-DCA),and 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB)by EPA Test Method 8260 and GC/MS Combination TPHg
concentrations were reported above the laboratory Practical Quantitation Limit(PQL) of 50 micrograms per liter(µg/L) in groundwater
' samples collected from ten (10) of the nineteen(19) wells sampled this quarter The highest TPHg,benzene, and MTBE concentrations
reported were 28,000, 8,800,and 330 gg/L,respectively,in the groundwater samples collected from VW-I and EX-1 (MTBE) TBA was
detected above the laboratory PQL ranging from 5 0 to 1,000 gg/L in 10 wells sampled, the highest concentration reported was 210 gg/L
in groundwater samples collected from EX-1 1,2-DCA concentrations were reported above the laboratory PQL ranging from 0 5 to 100
' µg/L in 16 wells, the highest 1,2-DCA concentration reported was 180 µg/L in groundwater samples collected from MW-14 EDB,
TAME, and DIPE concentrations were reported below their laboratory PQL ranging from 0 5 to 1,000 gg/L in the 19 wells sampled
TPHg, benzene, and MTBE concentrations are illustrated on Figure 2 and historic groundwater analytical results are presented in Tables
I and 2 Hydrographs of groundwater elevations and analytical data are attached in Appendix B and complete laboratory analytical
' results and chain-of-custody documentation are attached in Appendix C
