Beacon Cardlock Station Number 610 SSB 92 1001-02
3300 Waterloo Road Page 4
Stockton, California
One 550 gallon underground waste oil tank was removed from the site in June of 1987 Applied
' Geosystem personnel were present during the tank removal and collected one soil sample from a
depth of 11 feet Laboratory analysis did not reveal any impact to the soil beneath the waste oil
tank. On February 20, 1992, SSB personnel examined the monitoring wells at the site Only two
of the wells could be opened (MW-2 and MW-3) and both were dry.
3.0 RESULTS AND FINDINGS
' The results of the field and laboratory investigations are summarized in the following sections
3.1 Soil Profile
The soils encountered during drilling consisted of black silty clays to approximately 3 feet The
silty clays were underlain predominantly by brown sandy silts and brown clayey silts to a depth of
approximately 55 feet Brown silty clays were encountered between 25 and 55 feet in boring B-8
Tan, medium to coarse grained sands were encountered between 55 and 60 feet in borings B-8 and
B-9. The tan sands were underlain by approximately 5 feet of sandy gravels Brown sandy silts and
clayey silts were encountered from 65 feet to the bottom of the borings at approximately 90 feet
' in borings B-7 and B-8 and 85 feet in boring B-9
The foregoing is a general summary of the subsurface conditions encountered in the borings drilled
' for this investigation Detailed descriptions of the conditions encountered in the borings are
presented on the boring logs in Appendix A. The stratification lines shown on the logs represents
' the approximate boundary between soil types, the actual in-situ transition may be gradual
' 3.2 Soil Sample Analytical Results
Six soil samples selected from each of the borings, and one composite sample of stockpiled auger
cuttings, were submitted to WEST Laboratory for analysis for selected gasoline constituents The
results of the analyses are presented in Table 2 The complete laboratory reports, quality control
' data, and chain-of-custody documentation are presented in Appendix B Soil sampling and chain-of-
custody procedures are presented in Appendix C
' SSB ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC
