I
' Beacon Cardlock Station Number 610 SSB 92-1001-02
3300 Waterloo Road Page 9
Stockton, California
5 0 CONCLUSIONS
On the basis of our findings, we present the following conclusions
1) Based on the analytical results, it does not appear that soil has been impacted in the
areas penetrated by the soil borings drilled during this investigation Previous
sampling in March of 1987 indicated no detectable concentrations of benzene and
ethylbenzene, and only minor amounts of other analytes
2) Laboratory analyses of ground-water samples obtained from monitoring well MW-5
' on April 1, 1993, indicated trace concentrations of toluene and xylenes slightly above
the method detection limits These concentrations may have been due to surface
runoff from rainfall during well construction penetrating the boring Monitoring
rwell MW-5 was resampled on April 16, 1993 No detectable gasoline range
hydrocarbon concentrations were detected in the ground-water resample.
6 0 RECOMMENDATIONS
' On the basis of our findings and review of previous site findings, we present the following
recommendations.
1) Based on the analytical data collected in this and the previous investigation (1987),
' we do not recommend further investigation of the soil The three monitoring wells
should be sampled for two additional quarters If the three monitoring wells remain
unaffected by gasoline range hydrocarbons, further investigation or remediation of
the ground water would not be warranted, and site closure should be sought.
' SSB ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC
