• • <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This plan describes the health and safety procedures for the activities planned for the investigation at <br /> the Ultramar Inc Beacon Cardlock Station Number 610, located at 3300 Waterloo Road in Stockton, <br /> California All SSB Environmental Consultants, Inc, employees and field personnel will abide by this <br /> plan It is intended that all project work will comply with applicable codes and regulations of the <br /> United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration Each field team member working on this <br /> project will have the general responsibility to identify and correct any health and safety hazards and <br /> strive to make the work place safe. <br /> 1.1 Project Description <br /> This project is the investigation to be performed b SS <br /> g p y B Environmental Consultants, Inc, at the <br /> previously-mentioned project site The scope of the project will include the drilling of exploratory soil <br /> borings, the installation of monitoring wells, and the sampling of soils, groundwater, and vapors on and <br /> surrounding the subject property Sample labeling, preparation, shipment, and analyses will also be <br />' performed <br /> 1.2 Key Personnel & Responsibilities <br />' The following personnel who will have the overall responsibility for the safe operation of this <br /> investigation are <br /> David A. Sholes Principal <br /> Ronald Garrett Staff Geologist <br /> It is the responsibility of the above-designated safety officers to <br /> • <br /> Implement the site safety training program for all project field team members as described in <br /> this document <br /> Assure that all field personnel have read and understand this Health and Safety Plan <br /> - Establish effective traffic and pedestrian control around the drilling site <br />' Insure that adequate drilling site security is maintained <br /> • Perform work place surveillance for flammable/explosive conditions and insure that there is a <br /> portable fire extinguisher located on-site <br />
