•
' Beacon Cardlock Station Number 610 SSB 92-1001-01
3300 Waterloo Road Page 6
Stockton, California
5.3 Laboratocy Analysis
' An estimated seven soil samples from each borehole will be selected for laboratory analysis. The
Y
' selected samples will be analyzed in the laboratory for BTEX, using EPA approved methods, and
TPHg by modified LUFT Guideline methodologies Detection limits suitable for the soil tests
requested and concentrations present will be stated on the laboratory reports Copies of the
laboratory reports will be included in our final report.
Ground-water samples will be collected from the monitoring wells installed at the site These
samples will be submitted for laboratory analysis for BTEX and TPH using approved EPA methods.
Detection limits suitable for the water tests requested and concentrations present will be stated on
the laboratory reports Copies of the laboratory reports will be included in our final report
5.4 Measurement of Ground-Water Gradient
i
A survey of the well-head elevations (measured to the nearest 0 01 foot) of the new and existing
wells with respect to mean sea level will be conducted The survey data and ground-water
' measurements from each well will be used to determine the ground-water gradient and direction
of local ground-water flow Elevation differences between the wells will be combined with
measurements of the depths to static water in the respective wells to calculate the differences in
water level The calculations will be used to prepare a ground-water potentiometric surface map
for the vicinity of the site
5.5 Report Preparation
A report prepared by the consultant summarizing the soil conditions encountered during the
drilling, field and laboratory procedures, well construction details, analytical results, direction of
ground-water flow and gradient, and recommendations for further work (if needed) will be
presented to Mr M L Ehrlich of Wild, Carter, Tipton, & Oliver and to Mr Glenn Dembroff of
Ultramar approximately 45 days after field work is completed After review, the report will be
forwarded to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
I
i
SSB ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS INC
