:a
May 10, 1987 AGS 86103-2
Cardlock Station #27 - Stockton, California
Water samples were collected on March 19, 1987 from the first
three monitoring wells. These results were shown to be invalid
#Y
on the basis of laboratory tests of the sampling equipment.
Ground water samples were collected from all four monitoring
wells after installation of MW-4 , using special precautions to
avoid sampling errors. The levels detected in the samples show
very low levels of contamination. Only MW-4, located down
- gradient from the tank cavity, contained hydrocarbon constituents
't (benzene) at levels above drinking water standards established by
the California Department of Health Services.
3
Analyses of soil samples indicate that significant contamination
is limited to the tank backfill material and the native soil
T immediately below the tank cavity.
rr
EVALUATION OF GROUND WATER GRADIENT
An evaluation of the ground water gradient across the site was
made through the use of an automatic levelling instrument. The
instrument was used to measure the differences in elevation
' between the instrument and the top of the casing for each of the
i
s W
a
L
10 _ BQ011001 _
S
.4,ojed Gosystems
