h
4 May 10, 1987 AGS 86103-2
Cardlock Station #27 - Stockton, California
RECOMMENDATIONS
r
t
The levels of hydrocarbons detected at the base of the tank
F
backfill material may require mitigation in association with tank
repair operations. A soil vapor venting system, an in situ
biodegradation system, or a system combining elements of both
r
programs could be designed which would significantly lower
hydrocarbon concentrations in this area. Applied GeoSystems will
design an effective mitigation program if required by state and
local agencies and if requested by the site owner.
Benzene was found in ground water from MW-4 at a level of 1. 2
`G
parts per billion. Drinking water standards for benzene are 0.7
parts per billion. Other constituents were found to be not
detectable or present at levels significantly below drinking
4 water action levels. These levels are vexy near the detection
„ limits of the methods used. Several other factors can affect the
concentrations reported, including sample collection methods,
sample handling, and spurious results induced during transport or
in the laboratory.
y,
Mf
t4 .
- 14
4p/!ed GeoSYstems $Q°>>o
