aramar Anthony Brown
Maintenance Manager
July 19, 2019
Mr. Rick J. Justice
Environmental Control Officer
City of Stockton
Municipal Utilities Department
2500 Navy Drive
Stockton, CA 95206
RE: Aramark Laundry Facility- 7679 S. Longe Street, Stockton, CA 95206
Dear Mr. Justice,
This letter is to follow up to our meeting on July 17, 2019 regarding a water hose that was left on
at our Stockton facility the evening of July 15th.
As discussed and outlined in our letter to Mr. Backus, our plant had a release of water to our
parking lot. A water hose (the size of a typical garden hose) was left running the night of July
15th releasing clean water in the interior of the facility. The water ran into a sump in the interior
of the building. The sump malfunctioned and water started running out of the sump. The water
then ran toward the rollup doors. There were absorbent socks at the doors. The socks
absorbed the water, and after the socks were saturated, the water seeped through and ran into
the parking lot.
We determined the malfunctioning sump pump was due to a blockage in the suction intake of
the pump. The blockage was cleared and we proceeded to clean-up the remaining water
contained in the wastewater building. There was no direct discharge of water to the sanitary
sewer. All water was directed to the pretreatment system for normal processing and treatment.
We are instituting corrective actions with the maintenance team to perform daily inspection of
the sump pumping system to try and prevent reoccurrence of this issue.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Anthony Bro
Maintenance Manager
7679 S. Longe Street I Stockton, CA 95206 1 209.234.0105 x100 Brown-Anthonyl0@aramark.com
