Weber Avenue
Courthouse Room 275
Stockton, CA 95202 {
RE: San Joaquin County IN REPLY REFER TO SITE CODE: 1838 I
Motor Pool '
444 S. Wilson Way ;
Stockton, CA 95201
I
We have reviewed the Site Assessment Report dated December 22 , j
1989 . Based on the analytical results, the report recommends that
no further investigation be conducted at' this site.
i
Contamination (12mg/kg TPH), was noted atllthe bottom of soil boring
number five (21. 5 ft. ) and chromium and zinc contamination was
present in all the soil samples analyzed., The report implies that
the level of contamination in SB5 does not warrant further
investigation. y
The report also states that levels of chromium and zinc appear to
be consistent with background soil concentrations typical of
northern San Joaquin Valley. Background ' levels at this site have
not yet been determined.
l This office recommends that an additional Ilsoil boring be drilled in
close proximity to soil boring five, and the California Water
Service Municipal well on the neighboring parcel, to show the
extent of vertical contamination. A second soil boring in an area
not suspected of contamination should be drilled to demonstrate
background levels of chromium and zinc. ' This boring should be
i sampled at sufficient depths to confirm the consultant ' s statements
in the report.
