Box 2009 (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) Stockton,California 95201
(209)468-3400
August 3, 1989
San Joaquin County
Department of General Services
Larry Silva/Janes Leonard
222 E. Weber Avenue
Courthouse Rn. 675
Stockton, CA 95202
RE: SITE ASSESSMENT WORK PLAN, SAN JOAQUIN MOTOR POOL
444 S WILSON WAY, STOCKTON.
Please be advised that this office has reviewed the above referenced work plan
and the addendum and have found it to be adequate provided the following
comments are addressed in the Soil Remediation Report or Preliminary Report.
1. We recommend that the soil boring construction be amended to include
continuous core drilling on at least one boring to groundwater. A
detailed description of the sampling procedure to be used during
drilling should be included in the completed report.
2. The soil borings at location #2 shall extend to groundwater due to the
elevated levels of TPH in samples 812231 and 812229 which were 620 mg/kg
and 310 mg/kg respectively.
3. We recommend that all soil boring have the bottom sample, analyzed by a
state certified laboratory in order to provide minimum verification
"zero line".
4. All soil samples submitted to the laboratory for analysis shall be
analyzed for the constituents and by the methods recommended in Table #2
of the Tri-Regional Staff Recommendation.
5. The extraction tube to be noted on Plate 4 shall be removed or
investigated for elimination as a source of contamination.
Due to the proximity of groundwater, a groundwater investigation may be
necessary regardless of the outcome of this soil evaluation. Please refer to
the Tri-Regional Guidelines for Initial Evaluation and Investigation of
Underground Storage Tanks for future assessment and preliminary reports.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
T '
