WATERLOO ROAD; STOCKTON <br /> A proposal for further assessment and/or remediation of the groundwater <br /> contamination documented at the above referenced site has been submitted to this <br /> office. <br /> At the current time, the San Joaquin Local Health District (SJLHD) is not <br /> authorized to enforce assessment and remediation of groundwater contamination. <br /> Therefore, all assessment and remediation activities involving groundwater <br /> contamination must be reviewed and approved by the Central Valley Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) and/or Department of Health Services--Toxic <br /> Substances Control Division (DOHS-TSCD) prior to initiating further activity at <br /> this site. <br /> In addition, the SJLHD will continue to require local approval and permits for <br /> certain activities; such as borings, monitoring wells/piezometers, vapor probe <br /> surveys, extraction systems, etc. All local permitting will require CVRWQCB <br /> approval in writing prior to permit issuance. <br /> Pursuant to the San Joaquin Local Health District fee schedule Re.solutinrL No. 85-, <br /> 58, a fee will be charged for time spent on review activities in addition to ,any <br /> permit and inspection fees required. <br /> The current workload volume is being managed by a 60-day backlog of <br /> chronologically received environmental assessment/remediation reports and/cur <br /> workplans. The San Joaquin Local Health District has established a priority <br /> review process which is an option available upon written request.
