n
02 Jun6 1998
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0104
Page 2 of 2
2. Three of the`drowned' ground water monitoring wells currently on site and within the impacted
ground water plume can be adapted for use as air sparging wells;
3. Immediate initiation of the SVE/AS pilot test will provide some degree of immediate relief and
protection for the endangered drinking water wells;
4. As the test progresses,the system can be fine tuned to more effectively address impacted soil and/or
ground water.
A six-month SVE/AS pilot test is recommended at this time to determine the effectiveness of this remedial
alternative for the site and to provide immediate protection to the nearby drinking water wells. Since
hydrocarbon-impacted soil in the vadose zone appears to be limited to the area directly beneath the former
UST cavity at the site, a six-month SVE/AS pilot test may provide enough effective remediation such that
no additional active remediation in the hydrocarbon-impacted vadose zone may be necessary.
Upon completion of the six-month SVE,'AS pilot test, a report should be prepared to evaluate the remedial
progress of the pilot study. It is at this time that the necessity for any additional remedial alternatives for
hydrocarbon-impacted ground water at the site should be considered.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact our office at(209)467-1006.
Sincerely, %SD G
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. *C* 4E?.DFgp
ru
  N
No. 5337 '
N
Timothy J.
