PHS/EHD also indicated
that this plan should be submitted by August 15, 1994.
While a report entitled "Interim Soil Remediation Plan" dated August 30, 1994 was submitted,
the report proposed a feasibility study for vapor extraction rather than a remediation plan.
Furthermore, the feasibility study did not include sufficient specific information regarding the
performance of the test for PHS/EHD to evaluate. Please contact the San Joaquin Valley Unified
Air Pollution Control District for information regarding pilot test permitting requirements.
While the performance of a vapor extraction test may be necessary to evaluate remedial
alternatives, please be aware that the California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Division 3,
Chapter 16, Underground Storage Tank Regulations Sections 2722 - 2728 outlines the
requirements of corrective action. A corrective action plan should be submitted by March 31,
1995.
If you have any questions, comments or wish to schedule a site inspection, please contact Mary
Meays, Senior REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Mary Meays, Senior REHS Diane M.
