I
F
August 5, 1988 AGS Job No. 38033-1
Marlowe Properties, Stockton, California
0
BACKGROUND
I Information provided by Marlowe Properties personnel indicates
that four underground storage tanks were located in various areas
on the site. One 500-gallon tank was used to store regular
leaded gasoline; the approximate former location of the tank is
shown on the Generalized Site Plan (Plate P-2) . The contents and
locations of the other tanks are unknown to Applied GeoSystems.
RAMCON, Inc. , of West Sacramento removed these tanks in January
1987 .
• According to the property owner, soil samples were collected from
the base of the tank cavity during tank removal operations by
RAMCON. Samples collected were not analyzed for organic lead.
RAMCON further excavated at a later date to collect samples to be
analyzed for organic lead. RAMCON collected samples at 17 feet
below grade; these samples were analyzed for the volatile
hydrocarbon constituents benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
total xylene isomers (BTEX) by Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) Method 8020 and total volatile hydrocarbons (TVH) by
modified EPA Method 8015. Soil samples were also analyzed for
total miscellaneous hydrocarbons, organic lead, and ethylene
dibromide. The results of these analyses, presented verbally by
2
I
App/iee GeoSystems
