23 December 2003 <br /> ' AGE-NC Project No 95-0104 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br />' sample was transferred into three 40-m1 volatile organic analysis(VOA)vials containing 0 5 ml 18% <br /> hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative and into one 1-liter amber bottle without added <br /> preservative The samples were properly labeled,placed in a chilled container and transported under <br /> chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical,Inc (MAI)a State of California Department of Health <br /> Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory The samples were analyzed for <br />' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in <br /> accordance with EPA Methods 5030/3550/8015-Modified, <br />' • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary-butyl ether <br /> (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and <br /> Fuel additives MTBE, di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETRE), <br /> tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME), tertiary butanol(TBA), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) <br /> and ethylene dibromide (EDB) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B <br /> 3.0 FINDINGS <br /> Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on <br />' 06 March 2003, the contaminant impact to ground water was quantified from the laboratory <br /> analytical data obtained from the sampling event <br />' 3 1 RELATIVE GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT <br /> The elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground water <br /> from the surveyed well casing elevations (Table 1) <br />' The depth to ground water ranged from 66 69 feet to 67 72 feet below the tops of the well casings <br /> Ground water elevations at the site ranged from 32 08 feet above mean sea level (MSL) in well <br /> MW-5 to 32 38 feet above MSL in well VW-1 <br /> Theound water <br /> gr flow direction on 06 March 2003 was inferred to be towards the northeast under <br /> an average gradient of 0 004 feet/feet Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations <br /> I32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> 1,2-DCA was detected in the water samples collected from MW-1, MW-5, MW-6 and VW-1 at <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc <br />
