r27 August 2001
• AGE-NC Project No 95-0104
rPage 3 of 4
r3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in the water samples collected from wells MW-2, MW-5 and VW-1 at
r concentrations of 200 micrograms per liter (µg/l), 85 µg/1 and 96 µg/1, respectively TPH-d was
detected in the water sample collected from MW-2 at a concentration of 75 4g/1 However, the
laboratory noted that gasoline range compounds were significant in the sample from MW-2
rBTEX compounds were detected in the ground water samples collected from MW-2,MW-3,MW-4
and VW-1 at concentrations as high as 30 µg/1 benzene, 14 µg/1 toluene, 4 0 µg/1 ethylbenzene and
r24 µg/1 total xylenes 1,2-DCA was detected in the ground water samples collected from MW-1,
MW-5 and VW-1 at concentrations of 3 0µg/1, 160 µg/1 and 5 7 µg/1, respectively
' Fuel oxygenated compound were not detected at concentrations at or above laboratory reporting
limits in the ground water samples collected Maps depicting the approximate extent of TPH-g-and
' 1,2-DCA-impacted ground water are presented in Figures 4 and 5 Analytical results of the ground
water samples are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory reports(McCampbell Analytical Inc Lab
I D No 71192 through 71198) and chain-of-custody forms are presented in Appendix B
I •
4.0. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS
rBased on data collected during the June 2001 environmental activities, AGE concludes
• The ground water flow direction is inferred to be towards the northeast under an average
hydraulic gradient of 0 003 feet/feet Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water
elevations
• Low concentrations of dissolved TPH-g and BTEX compounds are present in wells MW-2,
MW-5 and VW-1 and a low concentration of dissolved TPH-d was detected in well MW-2
Benzene concentrations in samples from MW-2 and VW-I exceeded the State of California
Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 10 µg/1
• 1,2-DCA was detected at low concentrations in wells MW-1 and VW-1 and at a higher
concentration in well MW-5 (160 µg/1), all detected concentrations exceeded the State of
California MCL of 0 5 µg/l
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
IBased on the findings of this investigation,AGE recommends continued quarterly monatonng of the
ground water monitonng wells The next monitoring event should be performed in December 2001
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc
