, Cobenanf
Environmental ! Page 2 of 2.
RECOMMENDATIONS TO CLIENT: COZAD TRAILERS I
1. The initial preliminary site appraisal showed: no evidence of overt
soil contamination, excessive waste storage nor improper disposal
activity. Good 'Housekeeping' and Work Area Planning show training
and concern by COZAD personnel. i
2. The removal of the underground tanks became a,matter of consternation
} initially because there was not- an.-Environmental Assessor to explain
- the"analytical' results 'and`liaison-with 'the regulatory agency. The
initial laboratory was of no help by reporting units in parts per
billion rather than parts per million; This at first glance, called
for some extreme remediation activities. ! In reality, and in sum,
LESS THAN TEN CUBIC YARDS OF SOIL WAS CONTAMINATED AND AT NO TIME
DID IT EXCEED 200 mg/kg. All indication point to a possible tank
overfill at sometime and not a leaking UFT.
3. The three underground tanks have been removediand disposed according
to TriValley Water Quality and Department of Health Service mandates.
The comparatively minimal contaminated soil was aerated according to
Article :;8 of the State Air Quality Board's =vRUL40
The soil was sampled, analyzed [EPA SW8461 and reviewed by California
Department of Health Certified Laboratory. short,, the soil is
as 'clean' as can be expected and can berelo'cated anywhere on the
property.
This note concludes a preliminary site appraisal, assessment, and
UFT remediation operation.
