Ladies and ,Gentlemen: <br /> Work Plan Amendment <br /> Soil and Groundwater Investigation <br /> Cozad Trailers <br /> j Stockton, California <br /> I This letter presents amendments to a Work Plan dated June 14, <br /> 1991, for a soil and groundwater investigation at the Cozad <br /> Trailer manufacturing facility. During our telephone <br /> conversation on June 26, 1991, you requested additional <br /> information concerning the - above referenced Work Plan. The <br /> following paragraphs present this additional information. <br /> i <br /> - Purged groundwater generated from developing the <br /> monitoring wells will be contained in 55-gallon <br /> ! Department of Transportation certified drums. After <br /> receiving. analytical results, a proper disposal method <br /> will be selected. <br /> - A typical well construction 'detail diagram is <br /> attached. As shown on the diagram, the well top of <br /> casing is housed in a 12-inch Emco-Wheaton monitoring <br /> well box. Additionally, a locking expansion plug <br /> seals the top of the casing. <br /> f - Soil samples will be collected at five foot intervals <br /> from each well boring and every sample will be <br /> screened with a photoionization device (PID) . The two <br /> soil samples with highest PID readings will be <br /> submitted for chemical analysis. If no positive <br /> readings are detected by the.
