Harding Lawson Associates
June 14, 1991
20548, 001. 03 JUN 17 1991
San Joaquin County ENVIRON HEALTH
Public Health Services l'ERNI /S RVICES
Environmental Health Services
P. O. Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Attention: Ms. Margaret Lagorio
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Work Plan
Soil and Groundwater Investigation
Cozad Trailers
Stockton, California
INTRODUCTION
On behalf of the Cozad Trailer Company, Harding Lawson
Associates (HLA) presents this work plan to conduct a soil and
groundwater investigation at the Cozad Trailers facility in
Stockton, California. The purpose of this investigation is to
determine whether groundwater has been impacted by the release
of petroleum hydrocarbons that occurred before 1989 from the
former 1, 000-gallon gasoline tank located at 4907 East Waterloo
Road in Stockton, California. This work plan has been prepared
in accordance to the Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations
for Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of Underground Fuel
Tank Sites dated August 10, 1990 and the San Joaquin County
Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(SJC/PHS/EHD) Guidelines for Work Plan and report submittal.
The site is in a flat-lying area in the eastern part of Stockton
(Plate 1) . The Cozad Trailer facility consists of an office
building, with rows of workshop space for fabrication of
lowboys. The facility once had three underground storage tanks
(USTs) in the central portion of the site, a 1, 000-gallon
gasoline tank and 5, 000- and 10, 000-gallon diesel tanks, all of
which were removed in 1989. We understand that no other USTs
are located on site and that only small quantities of other
petroleum products are used on site. The latter are stored in
55-gallon drums. Any waste generated from the use of these
chemicals is kept on site for a very short time before it is
hauled away.
Engineering and 1355 Willow Way, Suite 109,Concord, CA 94520 4151687-9660
Environmental Services A Suhsidiaq of Harding Associates•Offices Nationwide
