x <br /> Gemini Aetro ra hic Investf aliens <br /> �. iNTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with the wrltten request from San Joaquin County Public Health Services,Environmental Health <br /> Division, Gemini Petrographic investigations (GPI) is pleased to submit this Work Plan for a initial soil <br /> contamination Investigation at COU Trailers f=acility, Stockton, CA. The purpose of the Work Plan Is to <br /> address and documented the potential for soil and/or groundwater contamination In the vicinity of the <br /> previously removed underground storage tanks. It Is necessary to evaluate the vertical extent of soil <br /> contamination Inorder to evaluate the potential impact on groundwater, it any, and to develop <br /> recommendations based on tills investigation to further define the extent of contamination found. <br /> Y, PROPOSED SCONE OF WORK FOR DETERMINING EXTENT OF SITE <br /> SOiL CONTAMINATiON <br /> GPI proposes to drlll one(1)soil boring within within the vicinity of the underground storage tanks to a depth <br /> of between 40 and 50 feet as shown in Plate 1. Solis encountered In the boring will be sampled starting at 5 <br /> feet below the present grade and sampled every five feet and/or at changes in lithologles and/or zones of <br /> suspected contamination. <br /> The actual scope of work will be determined by the San Joaqu?n County Public Health Services,Environmental <br /> Health DIVIsion,however,It Is antlolpated the preliminary Investigation will Include the following tasks: <br /> u s Task 1-Background Data Collection,Permitting,and Preparation of Site Health and safety plan <br /> • Task 2-Sall Logging/Screening and Sampling <br /> _. o Task 3-Laboratory Analyses <br /> a Task 4-Data Analyses and Report Preparation <br /> A detailed descriptlon of each task is provided below. <br /> TASK 1 -SITE AND GEOHYDROLOGiC BACKGROUND <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The Cozad Trailers Facility is located at 4907 East Waterloo Road approximately 1/2 mile from Hwy 99 in <br /> Stockton,CA. The site contains numerous buildings used In the manufacturing of custom trailers for highway <br /> use. The property is adjacent to other light Industrial and commercial businesses and nearby service stations. <br /> immediately adjacent to the property Is F&H Construction which removed several underground storage tanks <br /> In 1990. Across the highway are several commercial properties containing known underground storage tanks. <br /> Among these commercial properties, Paragon Ventures, has undergone an Initial hydrologic Investigation, <br /> which resulted in detection of significant soil contamination.This property Is located downgradient from Cozad <br /> Trailers site.To the west,there are numerous service stations containing multiple underground storage tanks, <br /> if which Waterloo Shell Is known to have an unauthorized release of petroleum products. The general location <br /> of the site Is prov?ded in Plates 1 &2. <br /> y <br />
