(Ramage) on your behalf for the above-referenced site.
In the work plan, Ramage proposes to destroy three onsite monitoring wells by over drilling the
boreholes to total depth using ten-inch diameter hollow-stem augers. The boreholes will be
grouted with portland cement using a tremie pipe. Groundwater expelled from the wells during
the grouting process and soil cuttings generated from the over drilling process will be
containerized, characterized, and disposed of properly.
The EHD approves the work plan as submitted for destroying monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2,
and MW-3. Please submit a well destruction permit application along with a permit and
inspection fee of$375 to the EHD. The EHD has been notified that the fieldwork will take place
Saturday, November 8, 2008.
Please contact Vicki McCartney, Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist, at (209)
468-9852, or by email at vn1ccai'tn.ey(ii sjcehd.com if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Victoria L.
