(Ramage
Environmental) on your behalf. In this work plan Ramage Environmental proposes to
advance two soil borings to further define the lateral extent of impacted soil and
groundwater southwest (up-gradient) and southeast (cross-gradient) of the former
underground storage tank (UST) source area. One boring, advanced to total depth of
approximately 25 feet below ground surface (bgs), will be located approximately 60 feet
southwest of monitoring well MW-1 in the sub-grade parking area; and one boring,
advanced to total depth of approximately 35 feet bgs, will be located approximately 75
feet southeast of MW-1 in the street grade parking area. At least three soil samples and
one grab groundwater sample will be collected from each borehole for analysis.
EHD approves the advancement of the two proposed borings. In addition, EHD believes
two additional borings are needed: one borehole, advanced at the former UST location, to
vertically delineate the groundwater plume in the source area; and one boring advanced
in the sub-grade parking area approximately 60 feet north of MW-1 and halfway between
MW-2 and MW-3, to investigate the lateral extent of impacted soil and groundwater
down-gradient of the former UST source area.
Historically, di-isopropyl ether, ethyl tertiary-butyl ether, tertiary-amyl methyl ether,
tertiary butyl alcohol, 1,2-dichoroethane, and 1,2-dibromoethane have not been detected
in any soil and groundwater samples collected at this site. Therefore, EHD believes these
compounds may be removed from the analytical list for future soil and groundwater
sample analyses.
