Based on the work completed in this report,PHS/EHD agrees that further
site investigation is necessary to determine the extent of groundwater contamination. Soil and groundwater
samples were collected from three soil borings completed on site todepths.of 20 feet. Concentrations of
36,000 micrograms per liter(pg/1)of total petroleum hydrocarbons las gasoline(TPH-g)and 25 gg/1 of
methyl tertiary butyl ether(MtBE)were measured in a grab ground',water sample collected from boring B-2.
a At least one additional soil boring must be completed at the site in the vicinity of B-2 using either cone
;l penetrometer technology or a continuous core sampler in order to define the site lithology and vertical
extent of soil contamination. Additionally,monitoring-wells need to be in at the site to monitor.
groundwater and establish the gradient and direction of groundwater flow.
A work plan to delineate the vertical and lateral extent of impacted'soil and groundwater and install
monitoring wells should be submitted to PHS/EHD by July 16, 2001.
