05 June 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 99-0637 <br /> Page 4 of 7 <br /> I2 2 2 Collection and Analysis of Ground Water Samples <br /> Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers after <br /> allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume Each water <br /> sample was transferred into one 1-liter amber bottle without sample preservative and into three <br /> I 40-ml VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative After <br /> collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under <br /> chain-of-custodyto MAI,a California Department ofHealth Services-certified analytical laboratory, <br /> Ifor analysis The samples were analyzed for <br /> TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015M, and <br /> tBTE&X, MTBE,D1PE, ETBE, TAME, TBA, 1,2-DCA and EDB in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8260B <br /> I <br /> I. 3.0. FINDINGS <br /> The soil stratigraphy, ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from <br /> field data The contaminant impact to soil and ground water was quantified by the laboratory <br /> analytical data <br /> 31 STRATIGRAPHY <br /> Brown to tan fine sand with silt were encountered from surface grade to approximately 15 feet bsg <br /> in boring MW 10, to approximately 20 feet bsg in boring MW8 and to approximately 25 feet bsg in <br /> boring MW9 Dark brown to gray silty clay was encountered at all other depths <br />' Organic vapor was not detected in the soil samples collected No hydrocarbon-like odor was detected <br /> in any of the soil sample duplicates Lines of cross section are illustrated on Figure 2 and <br />' stratigraphic cross sections are depicted in Figures 3 and 4 The soil boring logs are provided in <br /> Appendix A <br />' 32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES <br />' A total of 6 soil samples were analyzed for the constituents listed in section 2 1 4 MTBE was <br /> . detected in the soil sample collected from 25 feet bsg in boring MW9 and from 28 feet bsg in boring <br />' MW 10 at low concentrations of 0 064 mg/kg and 0 048 mg/kg,respectively No other analytes were <br /> Advanced GcoEnvironmentai,Inc <br />
