AGE-NC Project No 99-0637 <br />' Page 2 of 6 <br /> generate a general lithology type and display on a CPT boring log (See Appendix A) Rinseate <br /> generated during drilling activities was containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon <br /> drums and was stored on-site In an area lacking public access The soil borings were backfilled over <br /> their entire depth range with a portland cement grout mix <br /> 2 2 GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> Following advancement of an initial boring to collect lithologic data,the CPT drill rig equipped with <br /> a HydroPunch ground water sampling tool was utilized to collect gab ground water samples from <br /> specified depths of the twin soil boring The HydroPunch sample tool was pushed into the specified <br /> zone,then withdrawn approximately four feet to expose an inlet screen The Interior of the sampling <br /> Itool filled with water and a 1-mch outer diameter (O D ) stainless steel bailer was lowered and <br /> utilized to extract a ground water sample Ground water samples were collected from selected depth <br /> intervals(zone)based on previously acquired CPT-lithology data Indicating favorable conditions for <br /> sampling groundwater All rinseate generated dunng dnlling activities was containerized In properly <br /> labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon drums,and was stored on-site in an area lacking public access The <br /> lietwinned soil boring was backfilled over Its entire depth with a portland cement gout mix <br /> Following sample collection, the samples were placed in laboratory-supplied containers and <br /> I transported under chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical Inc (MAI), a California Department <br /> of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory Samples were analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8015-Modified, <br /> I • Benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes(BTEX)in accordance with EPA Method <br /> 8020, and <br /> • Fuel additives - methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl <br /> I tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA), <br /> ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8260-Modified <br /> I <br /> I23 SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> Following advancement of an initial boring to collect lithologic data,the CPT drill rig equipped with <br /> Ia 1 25-inch diameter piston soil sampling assembly loaded with two pre-cleaned brass sleeves,was <br /> • used to collect a soil sample from 35 feet bsg in the twin of boring CPT-1 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
