AGE-NC Project No 99-0637 <br /> EPage 5 of 7 <br /> 33 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> A total of 14 soil samples were analyzed for TPH-g,TPH-d,BTEX,MTBE and the suite of five fuel <br /> additives <br /> Toluene was detected in the soil samples collected from MW1, MW3 and MW4 at concentrations <br /> as high as 0 025 mg/kg(MW1-15) MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8020 in the soil samples <br /> collected from MW4 at 20 feet and 25 feet bsg at concentrations of 12 mg/kg and 0 13 mg/kg, <br /> respectively MTBE was confirmed by EPA Method 8260 Modified in the same samples at <br /> concentrations of 1,200 µg/kg and 97 µg/kg, respectively No other analytes were detected at or <br /> above laboratory reporting limits in the soil samples analyzed The approximate occurrence of <br /> toluene- and MTBE-impacted soil is depicted on Figures 4 and 5 <br /> IAnalytical results of soil samples are summarized on Table 2 The laboratory reports(MAI Lab I D <br /> No 65162 through 65175), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) report and chain-of- <br /> custody forms are included in Appendix E <br /> lie 3 4 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> TPH-d was detected in the ground water sample collected from MW1 at a concentration of 53 µg/1 <br /> MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8020 1n the ground water sample collected from MW4 at a <br /> concentration of 4,500 µg/1 and confirmed by EPA Method 8260 at a concentration of 4,700 µg/1 <br /> No other analytes were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the ground water analysis <br /> The analytical results of ground water samples are summarized on Table 3 The laboratory reports <br /> (MAI Lab I D No 65900 through 65903),QA/QC report and charas-of-custody form are included in <br /> Appendix F <br /> 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS <br /> Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds <br /> • Ground water flow at the site on 13 April 2001 was inferred to be generally toward the <br /> northwest at a low gradient of 0 0007 feet/feet <br /> • Generally, dark brown to tan, damp to saturated, poorly graded sand and silty sand was <br /> Iencountered from surface grade to approximately 25 feet bsg Brown, damp,clayey silt was <br /> • encountered between 15 feet and 20 feet bsg At 30 feet bsg clayey silt was encountered in <br /> MW3 and MW4, silty clay in MW1 and poorly graded sand with silt in MW2 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
