12 October 2000 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 99-0637 <br /> Page 7 of 7 <br /> Concentrations of dissolved benzene detected in the grab ground water samples collected <br /> from B 1 and B2 were above selected MCLs <br /> • The State of California Department of Health Services has adopted a concentration of 13 ,ug/l <br /> Ias an action level(ALs)for MTBE in March 1999,and has adopted a concentration of 5 ,ug/1 <br /> as a secondary maximum contaminant level (MCL) for MTBE in January 1999 The <br /> I concentration of dissolved MTBE detected in all the grab ground water samples collected <br /> were above the AL <br /> • Petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil was not encountered during this investigation and is <br /> Iinferred to have limited honzontal and vertical extent <br /> • The vertical extent of MTBE-impacted soil has been defined MTBE-impacted soil does not <br />' appear to extend to 25 feet bsg in the area enclosed by the probe borings <br /> • The horizontal extent of MTBE-impacted soil has not been defined to the south and <br />' southwest of the former UST area <br /> • The horizontal and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon and MTBE-impacted ground <br /> water has not been delineated in any direction <br /> 6.0 RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based upon data collected from the site, AGE recommends installation of soil borings and ground <br />' water monitoring wells to assess the horizontal extent of impacted soil, the horizontal and vertical <br /> extent of impacted ground water and to monitor impacted ground water <br /> I7.0. LIMITATIONS <br /> Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by <br /> environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities.
