PROCEDURES <br /> Between May 2004 and August 2004, nine ozone injection wells (OW-1 through OW-9), an ozone <br /> E distribution system and an ozone generator were Installed on-site Field work was performed as <br /> outlined In the AGE-prepared Ozone Infection Pilot Study Work Plan, dated 05 March 2004 <br /> E Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST) <br /> sites <br /> 21 DRILLING <br /> EOn 13 and 14 May 2004, nine soil borings were advanced on-site The soil borings were advanced <br /> using a CME-75HT drill rig,equipped with 8 25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers to Install ozone <br /> E Injection wells OW-1 through OW-9 Wells OW-1, OW-2, OW-3 and OW-5 through OW-9 were <br /> drilled vertically to total depths of 30 feet bsg Well OW-4 was drilled at a 20 degree angle to a <br /> vertical depth of 30 5 feet bsg and a drill length of 32 5 linear feet(Figure 3) The drill ng and three- <br /> man crew were supplied by Mitchell Drilling Environmental Auger returns generated by drilling <br /> were contamenzed in properly labeled Department of Transportation(DOT)-approved model 17H <br /> 55-gallon drums and stored on-site No soil samples were collected during drilling activities <br /> I <br />' 22 OZONE WELL COMPLETIONS <br /> Pilot borings OW-1 through OW-9 were completed as ozone Injection wells using post <br /> E manufacturer-assembled 2-inch by 30-Inch microporous sparge diffusion points in eachboring from <br /> approximately 27 5 feet to 30 feet bsg in OW-1, OW-2, OW-3 and OW-5 through OW-9 and from <br /> approximately 28 feet to 30 5 feet bsg in OW-4 with 1-inch blank casing extended to the surface <br />' The filter pack(#2116 Lonestar sand)was Installed from the bottom of each boring to approximately <br /> 2 5 feet above the screen Intervals A nominal 2-foot bentonite pellet plug was installed above the <br /> • filter pack and hydrated The wells were then grouted to near the surface with portland cement <br /> EAdvanced CeoEn%ironmental,Inc <br /> E <br />
