I <br /> 07 November 2003 <br /> i AGE-NC Project No 96-0254 <br /> IPage 2 of 9 <br />' consists of very deep,moderately well-drained grayish brown and dark grayish brown clay The soil <br /> formed in alluvium derived from mixed rock sources <br />' The Modesto, Riverbank and Turlock Lake Formations and overlying Recent alluvium are the <br /> principal sources of domestic ground water in the 13,500-square mile San Joaquin Valley Ground <br /> Water Basin (Basin 5-22) This basin is drawled primarily by the San Joaquin River <br /> I <br /> 2 2 LOCAL GROUND WATER SETTING <br />' The nearest surface water feature in the vicinity of the property is the Stanislaus River approximately <br /> five miles south of the site Ground water at the site is currently encountered at a depth of <br /> I approximately 20 to 22 feet below surface grade (bsg), and has a western flow direction (Figure <br /> Ground water occurs in a generally silty sand extending from 20 to 25 feet bsg with approximately <br /> 5-foot thick silty clay layers above and below Poorly graded sand and silty sand extend from surface <br />' grade to approximately 15 feet bsg Ground water elevation data is presented in Table 1 <br /> 2 3 WELL SURVEY <br />' AGE conducted a sensitive receptor survey as part of the initial site characterization requirements <br /> under the California Code of Regulations-Title 23,Division 3,Chapter 16,Section 2654 for the site <br /> located at 210 East Wetmore Street, Manteca, California(the site) The objective of the work was <br />' to identify and locate sensitive receptors, including wells, potentially affected by the UST release, <br /> and to Identify and locate potential vertical conduits The scope of work included review of State of <br /> California Department of Water Resources records, San Joaquin County Department of Health <br />' Services records,and conducting a visual area reconnaissance for municipal,domestic,irrigation or <br /> ground water monitoring wells within a 2,000-foot radius of the site and septic systems located on <br /> the site <br />' On 16 September 2003, an AGE representative reviewed well drillers' reports at the California <br /> Department of Water Resources - Central District for water wells located in the surrounding area <br />' Drillers' reports for 1 industrial water well and 23 monitoring wells located at three different sites <br /> within a 2000-ft radius were found <br />' On 17 September 2001, an AGE representative conducted a search of the San Joaquin County <br /> Department of Environmental Health records of septic systems or permits for wells located on the <br /> site property No records of a past or existing septic tank or system were found during the search <br />' In September and October 2003 an AGE representative performed an area reconnaissance for <br /> _ p � eP <br />' visually observable potential sensitive receptors located within a 2,000-foot radius of the subject site <br /> Advanced GeAEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
