Wr_A1TU nCDAaTAACn1T <br /> Closed containers at all times except when adding waste materials. <br /> Maintain unobstructed aisle space for inspection, rearranging, transferring, and emergency access. <br /> Available emergency equipment includes telephone, portable fire extinguisher, spill control materials <br /> and equipment. <br /> General housekeeping practices regarding: <br /> o Container closure <br /> o Spillage cleanup <br /> o Proper labeling <br /> o Amounts in inventory <br /> Labeling Requirements <br /> Stored containers of waste are labeled, clearly visible, and legibly marked with six (6) required <br /> elements: <br /> o "Hazardous Waste" <br /> o Generator Name &Address <br /> o Initial Accumulation Date <br /> o Contents Description <br /> o Physical Form (solid, liquid) <br /> o Hazardous Properties (toxicity, corrosivity, ignitability, reactivity) <br /> y Off-site shipping containers are labeled with: <br /> o Proper DOT Shipping Name <br /> o Manifest Tracking Number <br /> o DOT Hazard Warning Labels <br /> Central Accumulation Location <br /> Key Point: Hazardous waste pharmaceuticals are accumulated and remain within the Linacia Pharmacy until <br /> transferred to a permitted disposal facility by the licensed waste transporter. Date mark the container once <br /> itis full. This date is the Accumulation Start Date. <br /> Use of Black RCRA/Hazardous Pharmaceutical Waste Containers <br /> Key Point: Pharmacy staff who handle hazardous waste are to be thoroughly familiar with proper waste <br /> handling procedures.
