. . ' . 28301 ••• R•
• - • ' ••ISS
1 638-5263
Geosciences, Inc.
June 4,2020
Project No.: 2001.0115
Subject: Geotechnical Exploration Work Plan
Pape Kenworth Northwest
6401 S. French Camp Road
French Camp, California
Bajada Geosciences, Inc. (Bajada),has been retained to provide geotechnical engineering services to
assist with the design of a new facility for Pape Kenworth Northwest. That facility is located at 6001
& 6401 South French Camp Road in French Camp, as shown on attached Plate 1. The following
work plan describes the exploratory work scheduled on site.
EXPLORATION LOCATIONS
Eight to ten explorations are proposed on the project site in the vicinity of the proposed new structure.
The approximate drill hole locations are shown on attached Plate 2.
EXPLORATION METHODS
The explorations will be advanced using cone penetrometer test (CPT) soundings and hollow-stem
auger drilling methods. The CPT soundings will be advances by hydraulically pushing a 2.3 int (1.7-
inch-diameter) instrumented probe into the ground from a 20-ton truck. The hollow-stem auger
drilling will utilize 8.25-inch-diameter augers. CPT and drill holes will be advanced to depth of up to
50 feet. Drill holes will range in depth from 10 to 50 feet. Soil samples will be obtained at
approximately 5-foot depth increments from the drill holes using standard penetration test (SPT) or
California modified split-spoon samplers.
EXPLORATION DESTRUCTION METHODS
Upon completion of logging and sampling of each exploration, the excavation will be backfilled and
destroyed using cement-grout,as shown on attached Plate 3. The grout will extend from the bottom
to top of hole and will be placed using a tremie system. No hole will remain open once logging and
sampling is completed. No hole will be completed as a monitoring well. Cuttings from the drill holes
will be left on site for later disposal.
EXPLORATION SCHEDULE&DURATION
We are scheduled to start exploration on June 11 & 12, 2020. It is anticipated that CPT soundings
and drill hole explorations will require 1 to 1.5 days per each type of exploration.
Quality Geotechnical Engineering Services
